We've never heard anything like it...

It has been a marvelous Super Sunday in England as Manchester United, Manchester City Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been in action, but Germany's Super Saturday was just as special.

Bayern Munich went four points clear in the Bundesliga title race after an entertaining 3-1 victory against rivals Borussia Dortmund in the famous Der Klassiker.

Arjen Robben opened the scoring with a typically powerful effort into the top corner, as Robert Lewandowski and David Alaba piled on the misery to sink Dortmund hearts at the Westfalenstadion.

It was a great game between two giants of German football, but rather than the goals and intricate passing play, some eagle eyed-viewers spotted a rather bizarre detail.

To the surprise of everyone watching at home, Mats Hummels sported a pair of Adidas boots with holes in the front, but why?

It turns out Hummels' toes are injured, so he wanted to give them more movement.

After the game, Hummels explained the reason behind his decision, saying: "I can not put a lot of pressure on the big toes because they're both blue, they're just a bit broken at the moment, so I hope it will regenerate next week." he told Sky Sports.

When asked if it hampers his game, Hummels said: "There's no harm at all, so I tie the shoe a little tighter, so they sit tight."

Marc Bartra may have scored a consolation goal but Bayern look in the driving seat to secure the Bundesliga title once again.

It may be early but you can't deny that Jupp Heynckes' side look stronger than ever.
