What was he thinking?!

England vs Scotland went from a bang average game of football to absolute madness In the space of eight minutes.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain gave England the lead with 20 minutes remaining, but a stunning couple of free-kicks from Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths left Scotland fans in hysterics.

Harry Kane was to then inevitably spoil the Scottish party in injury time. The Tottenham striker met Raheem Sterling's cross at the back post and slotted past a devastated Craig Gordon. (seriously though, how brilliant was this bloke in Football Manager 2012)

All in all, it was a very decent game, but one man in particular received a lot of stick on social media - and that wasn't just because of his £6 ASOS cap.

Here's a live picture of the free-kick in action:

Hart was slated for his contribution to Leigh Griffiths' double free-kick, as well as a moment of madness that involved a back-pass.

The 30-year-old must have totally forgot the actual rules of being a goalkeeper when he picked up a pass from a fellow teammate.

Not may people picked up on his mistake, not even Italian referee Paolo Tagliavento:

Hart was the talk of social media in the first half after he walked out wearing a rather fetching cap.

As always, Twitter had something to say about Hart's unusual choice of head-wear and well, we weren't disappointed.

It wasn't a great day for the England number one.

Thoughts on Joe Hart's performance against Scotland on Saturday afternoon?
