Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney has made a £100,000 donation to the victims of the Manchester terror attack.
The 31-year old made the donation through his charity, the Wayne Rooney foundation.
The terror attack carried out by a suicide bomber at the Manchester Arena where an Ariana Grande concert was taking place on Monday, saw 22 people killed and 120 injured.

And after being "horrified" of the tragic turn of events that ensued, the Wayne Rooney foundation has donated £100,000, as well as partnering with BT to set up a donation line for those wanting to help out those affected by the horrible tragedy.

"There are moments in life that instantly affect you and stop you in your tracks. Monday night was one of those occasions.
"Like so many others, I have enjoyed great nights at the arena, often with my family.
"As a father, I am horrified that a night out for so many young people could end so tragically. My heart goes out all those affected. Please give whatever you can."
Rooney also urged people to vote with a couple of posts on his official Twitter account, letting his 14.6m followers how to do their bit.
Across town on the blue half of Manchester, Yaya Toure and his agent were keen to dig deep to help those in need.

Kaveh Solhekol from Sky Sports reported that the former Barcelona midfielder and his agent are set to donate a six figure sum to the families who have been affected or have lost loved ones:
Dimitri Seluk, Toure's agent and friend, spoke to Sky Sports and pledged to make the donation, saying:
"The news an eight-year-old girl went to see her favourite singer and didn't return home is too much to bear.

"Yaya and I want to help. We talked this morning about what happened and he asked me what he thought we could do.
"We have agreed to donate £50,000 each to help the victims of this terrible crime. It doesn't matter whether the victims are from Manchester or not."

Meanwhile former Manchester United player Phil Neville, who was in Stockholm covering the Europa League final, helped arrange food to be sent to patients and staff at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital after being made aware of the need for extra supplies.

Neville, who goes above and beyond with his charity work, felt it was the least he could do.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5, as per The Mirror, he said:
"I saw there was shortage of food at the hospital, I rang the hotel that I was part owner in and said, 'Can we get some food down there?'
"It was in the Manchester Children's Hospital ... I was part of the fundraising committee to try and build that hospital. It's part of my life, it's probably the best thing that I've ever done, me and my wife, trying to raise money for that hospital.
"People were there for me when I had my little girl in the hospital for eight weeks and I just wanted to try and just do something because you just feel helpless."
Three excellent gestures from Rooney, Neville and Toure. Great to see.
