Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney says he's amazed that despite having equalled Sir Bobby Charlton's goal-scoring record last night, people are only focusing on a misunderstanding about swapping shirts.
Reading midfielder George Evans appeared to reject the chance to swap jerseys with Rooney after United had sealed a 4-0 victory over the Championship side in the FA Cup last night.
And most fans immediately jumped to the assumption that Evans had refused as he was a Manchester City youth player up until last year.

However, Evans later clarified on social media that he did in fact swap shirts with Rooney in the tunnel.
And it seems the England skipper wasn't best pleased that the story has made the headlines, despite his goal putting him on 249, level with United legend Charlton:

Rooney has struggled to make an impact for United this season, with Jose Mourinho preferring Zlatan Ibrahimovic as his sole striker for the majority of the campaign.
However, while the Englishman's time at Old Trafford may be heading toward a close, it's impossible to imagine he won't beat Charlton's record before leaving the club for a new challenge.
