At this moment we would like to the time to remember Mehdi Benatia, the Juventus defender that sadly saw his dreams crushed during Juventus' title-winning celebrations today.

The Bianconeri have claimed an unprecedented seventh Scudetto in a row and lifted the trophy in Turin following their 2-1 win over Hellas Verona in what was the final time Gianluigi Buffon and Stephan Lichtsteiner turned out for the club.

At the end of the game, as is normal, every Juve players made the entrance back onto the pitch and received their Serie A winning medal before making their way onto the podium for the official presentation.

Moroccan centre-back Benatia was clearly in a jovial move and wanted a handshake off one of the models on the pitch, and then a fist bump off the other. He got neither and it was really, really awkward.

The former Bayern and Roma man tried to emulate Nicklas Bendtner, who managed to get a handshake of both hostesses back in 2013 when he collected his medal after being part of a Juve title win.

No Nicklas, no handshake. Better luck next time Mehdi.
