Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana was sent off in an Under 23's match against Tottenham after completely losing the plot.

The England international was livid with a challenge in the back from Spurs midfielder George Marsh and went absolutely mental - aggressively gripping him around the throat and back of the head in what was a very violent act.


Players ran in to stop the situation from escalating, with the former Southampton man well and truly seeing red.

Lallana, who was looking to get a bit some valuable minutes under his belt, was quickly and deservedly shown red by the referee, and then stormed down the tunnel.

A very poor reaction from the 29-year old, who has endured a frustrating season this term. Liverpool ended the 1-0 defeat with nine men after George Johnston was also sent off.
