Folks, get excited as the Champions League is back. But while the excitement is building ahead of the mouth-watering clashes, UEFA have threatened to kick out a club from this seasons competition.

European football takes center stage with the biggest clubs from the continent going head-to-head.

We're talking Barcelona vs. Juventus, AS Roma vs. Atletico Madrid, Spurs vs. Borussia Dortmund, as well as the return of Manchester United and Chelsea.

Not to mention favourites Real Madrid. And following their summer spending spree, Paris Saint-Germain are also touted as a team that could potentially go all the way.

The French giants shelled out an enormous amount of cash to acquire both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe from Barcelona and AS Monaco, respectively.

The Qatari-owners splashed out nearly £400 million to lure the talented pair to Paris. Though the transfers are still under scrutiny with UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin threatening to boot them out if they are found guilty of breaching the Financial Fair Play rules.

"If I want to attain the same popularity achieved by Michel (Platini), I know I need to exclude PSG from participating in UEFA organised competitions," Ceferin said via AS.

The governing body have already begun an investigation into their summer activity, and if they don't comply within the guidelines, Ceferin is not afraid to impose the maximum sanction.

"We're not afraid to implement punishment," he added.

Despite the defiant message, Nasser Al-Khelaifi is confident the club have acted accordingly: "I am very confident. UEFA does what it wants. Nothing is hidden and UEFA can come to our offices.

"We respect all the rules, and if other clubs are not happy, it's not my problem," the PSG president added.

PSG kick-off their 2017/18 European campaign with an away tie against Celtic, tonight. They are also set to face Bayern Munich (!!) and Anderlecht in the group stage.
