UEFA has revealed the 2018 Team of the Year voted on by its fans.

The number of users that took part in the selection was 168,543, with the total number of votes hitting 1,853,973.

Barcelona's Marc-André ter Stegen was selected in 30.4 per cent of teams and received 51,307 votes.

Just like EA Sports' Team of the Year for FIFA 19, the backline includes Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk and three Real Madrid stars: Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Raphaël Varane.

The midfield trio consists of 2018 Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modrić and Chelsea duo N'Golo Kanté and Eden Hazard.

Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo, Barça talisman Lionel Messi and inaugural Kopa Trophy winner and Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé complete the strike force for the team.

According to UEFA, Modrić had the most votes out of any player with 115,440.

Both Messi and Ramos have also reached impressive feats in UEFA's Team of the Year.

The 31-year-old Argentine has made his tenth appearance, while the 32-year-old Spaniard has featured for the seventh consecutive time in Team of the Year.
