Is This Real? Ivan Perisic ‘Tweet’ Gets Manchester United Fans Excited

A tweet attributed to Ivan Perisic this evening has got Manchester United fans very excited - but it looks fake.

The Inter Milan attacker has been linked with a move to Old Trafford regularly this summer, but so far nothing official has emerged from either club.

While the futures of Romelu Lukaku and Wayne Rooney dominate the thinking of the majority of United supporters, a tweet appearing to come from Perisic piqued interest.

It was simply a red circle emoji shared on Twitter:

As you can see, that's brought a lot of responses from supporters. But is it fake?

For a start, the account has been set up on Twitter since August 2015 yet it still hasn't been verified. Added to that, he rarely tweets and, when he does, it's usually an official photograph rather than something which offers an insight into his private life.

To top it off, at the time of sending the tweet Perisic had just 8,000 followers - Inter Milan and Croatia players will always have much more than that if they are legitimate.

But then again, a number of footballers follow the account - including Inter teammates Geoffrey Kondogbia and Miranda.
