We've all seen the picture of Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk trying to look mysterious and quizzical by staring out of a plane window, contemplating whatever to do next.

After Liverpool pulled the plug on a deal to sign the 25-year-old centre back, Van Dijk's future at the Saints has been questioned. Who will he join next? Who else is actually interested in a deal? The questions go on.

All we know is, it looks like the Dutch international wants a transfer away from Southampton this summer.

Shortly after the Liverpool deal broke through, Van Dijk edited his personal Twitter bio and plenty of people took notice. You don't get away with this kind of stuff on social media, Virgil.

Van Dijk has completely removed the words 'professional footballer for Southampton' from his bio.

He also changed his Twitter profile picture to a picture of himself wearing the Netherlands training kit.

It was previously Van Dijk in a Southampton shirt.

Earlier this week, Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol revealed that Liverpool ended their interest in Van Dijk and apologised to the 'owner, directors and fans' of Southampton Football Club for any misunderstanding regarding the transfer.

Liverpool even released the following statement:

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher then took to Twitter and solely blamed the person at Liverpool Football Club who fed the news to the local press.

Carragher believed that Van Dijk wanted to come to Liverpool when no fee had been agreed.

Thoughts on the Van Dijk situation?
