Alexis Sanchez will leave Arsenal before the 3rd of February, but who will he join in the coming days - will it be Manchester United or Manchester City?

Despite that fact that Pep Guardiola's side have expressed an interest in recent weeks, the club have now reportedly 'pulled the plug' on a deal for Alexis Sanchez, according to Manchester City correspondent Sam Lee.

Apparently the transfer was all agreed, but his agent Fernando Felicevich told the club that Manchester United are offering more in both wages and fees.

Sam Lee goes on to explain how Sanchez wanted to play under Guardiola once again.

But the Manchester City manager has doubted the player's commitment after reports emerged of a potential move to rivals Manchester United.

The Independent have also reported today that the signing of Sanchez could be made as early as Monday, with the player 'greatly leaning' towards a move to Old Trafford.

After Arsenal's defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon, Arsene Wenger admitted the transfer could happen in the next 48 hours:

"I don't master the rhythm of it, but it could happen today, tomorrow or not at all," said Wenger via BBC.

"It will be decided in the next 48 hours."

Before the match, Wenger also revealed how Sanchez was being 'vague' about the situation, but a decision was imminent:

"Yes. Don't read too much in it because even I don't know which way it will go.

What could have been at Arsenal...

"He's being vague at the moment. The situation is not completely decided one way or the other, so I left him at home."

Thoughts on Sanchez's potential move to Old Trafford?

Let us know in the comments. It looks like it's finally happening...
