Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has provided a huge update on their pursuit of David De Gea.

The Spanish and European champions have been tracking the Manchester United keeper for some time now. They've reportedly had a few big offers rejected with United hellbent that he's not for sale.

De Gea, 27, continues to cement himself as the best stopper in the Premier League following his heroics between the sticks against Arsenal in the league, last weekend.

He brilliantly denied Arsenal from scoring a second goal, including an outstanding double save to prevent Alexandre Lacazette then Alexis Sanchez from netting.

Naturally, his performances have alerted Real Madrid.

Though Zidane has cooled the transfer speculation by stating that he is happy with his two current options; Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla.

"I have two goalkeepers, understand," he said via Mirror.

"I am a Real Madrid coach and I am happy with my two goalkeepers, I will always say the same.

Will Zidane change his tune once the summer transfer window reopens?

"I saw Keylor well, although we can always give a little bit more, like always," the French manager added.

De Gea started his footballing career in the Spanish capital but with Real's cross-town rivals, Atletico.

After graduating from the B team, he broke into the first team, rising to prominence in the 2010/11 season.

Then-manager Sir Alex Ferguson subsequently snapped him up for £18.9 million in 2011, and the rest you could say is history.

But with speculation rampant, will the Spaniard return home? Watch this space.
