There's nothing Florentino Perez loves more than spending a king's ransom on new players and, given Real Madrid's poor start to the new La Liga season, the Los Blancos president now feels as though he has the perfect excuse to open the cheque book once again.

Zinedine Zidane's Spanish and European champions currently lie in fifth place in La Liga, seven points behind Barcelona, having lost one and drawn two of their opening seven league games.

It is with this early struggle in mind that Perez is eyeing up five new signings already, for next summer.

Three of the Real chief's targets are believed to be from the Premier League, according to Spanish media outlet Diario Gol, with Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli being joined by Chelsea winger Eden Hazard on Perez's shopping list.

All three players have already been linked with Real in the past, although given that Los Blancos have Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Isco and Marcos Asensio already at their disposal, it didn't seem as though they were in any rush to add to their forward line, this past summer.

However, with Bale's future still up in the air and Ronaldo heading into the 2018/19 campaign at 33 years of age (not that age seems to be slowing him down, at all, in fairness) Los Blancos do seem to be looking more towards the future and, if they continue to struggle through the 2017/18 campaign and Barcelona maintain their faultless start to the season, then rebuilding will be a neccessity, next year.

Also on Perez's hitlist are Bayern Munich full-back David Alaba and Juventus' Argentinean goal machine Paulo Dybala. Although whether Dybala AND Kane would both be targeted or if it would be a case of one or the other remains to be seen.

But if Zinedine Zidane fails to deliver La Liga or another Champions League to the Bernabeu this season, will he even be the manager to welcome all these potential new additions to the club?
