UEFA Ruling Could Force PSG To Sell Kylian Mbappe

Huge news.

UEFA's financial fair play ruling today could force Kylian Mbappé to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

Clubs across Europe will be waiting to see if French champions PSG will be sanctioned by UEFA for breaching financial fair play, with a ruling expected to be made today.

If PSG are found to have broken FFP rules they would be forced to sell some of the clubs' biggest stars, which could include youngster Kylian Mbappé.

FFP rules stipulate that clubs balance their football-related expenditure, such as wages and transfer fees, with television rights and ticket sales as well as their commercial revenue.

Penalties for breaking the rules include disqualification from the Champions and Europa League as well as transfer bans, fines and withholding prize money.

This will be music to the ears of Real Madrid as they too were frontrunners for the signature of Mbappé before he joined PSG, should he be forced to leave Paris it is most likely he will join Los Blancos as they continue to search for Ronaldo's replacement.

"I'm not optimistic as UEFA are being extremely lax in penalising clubs who breach the FFP regulations," said La Liga President Jabier Tebas, per AS.

"It's true that at the start of the summer, we asked UEFA to reopen the investigation into PSG."

Mbappé's loan at PSG ends on Monday, they then must pay €180m to Monaco, meaning they would breach FFP. Their choices appear limited, sell the player or return him to Monaco.

Real Madrid appears to be the only club with the power to make the move, as the Spanish transfer window does not close until the end of August.

Will we see UEFA make a landmark ruling and sanction a club that has become so big domestically and internationally, do PSG deserve to be punished?
