After months and months of transfer speculation, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is ready to swap Germany for China after reports suggest the 28-year-old is 'on the verge' of completing a €81 million deal to Tianjin Quanjian.

German publication BILD report that Aubameyang will earn €30million a-year if he joins the Chinese Super League giants - which is around £500,000-a-week.

Tianjin's multi-billionaire chairman Shu Yuhuiis is adamant that the club will sign Aubameyang at all costs, despite the Chinese Football Development rule that states any club that pays a transfer fee above €5.9 million for a foreign player has to pay double.

This could certainly turn out to be the most expensive deal in the history of world football.

Aubameyang, who scored 31 goals in 31 games in the Bundesliga last season, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and PSG in recent months but it looks like the Gabon international will make a move to China this summer.

It is thought that Aubameyang will partner Anthony Modeste at Tianjin, who is also reportedly on the verge of joining the Chinese Super League side.

Modeste is set to join Tianjin Quanjian for a reported €35 million (£30.8m).

The news emerged after Cologne chief executive Jorg Schmadtke told German football magazine Kicker: "It is going in that direction, although it is not yet finalised."

Aubameyang would join the likes of Alexandre Pato and Axel WItsel at Fabio Cannavaro's Tianjin Quanjian, who are regarded as the biggest club in China.

On Tuesday night, the Gabon striker posted the following on Instagram, hinting further of a move away from Dortmund.

'Ready for new adventures' wrote Aubameyang.

Back in May, BILD did claim that the 28-year-old forward met with PSG's director of football Patrick Kluivert to discuss a potential move, but that failed to materialise.

They also claimed that the Gabonese international would earn around €14m a year at Paris Saint Germain.

Is China the right destination for Aubameyang?
