Steven Gerrard is wasting no time in recruiting new players ahead of next season.

The Liverpool legend penned a four-year deal to become Rangers' new manager.

He remains linked with a host of players from England including his former Anfield teammates. The likes of Martin Skrtel have been subject to intense transfer speculation, not to mention a sensational story linking Fernando Torres with a move to Ibrox.

He's already drafted in Scott Arfield from Burnley, and Gerrard has another player entering his ranks.

And it's a familiar face.

Rangers have completed the signing of Jamie Murphy from Brighton Hove & Albion.

The 28-year-old joined the Scottish Premier League outfit on loan in January, and bagged five goals in 19 appearances last season.

Following his loan spell, Murphy has made the deal permanent, signing a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

"This club means a lot to me and it already feels like home," Murphy told Ranger's website via BBC.

"Whilst disappointed we didn't complete the objectives that we set last season, I am more determined than ever to help this club to be a success."

Gerrard is delighted with the latest acquisition: "It's more good news for the club that Jamie has committed his future to us ahead of the new campaign.

"He had an impressive start to his Rangers career in the second half of last season and we hope to see him continue to grow at the club next season and beyond."
