Manchester United may have splashed the cash on Zlatan, Pogba and Mkhitaryan this summer but the club have arguably missed out on one of the best defensive misfield players in world football during the window - N'Golo Kante.
Kante has revealed that he turned down the chance to join Manchester United before his deal with Chelsea was complete.
Despite a phone call from manager Jose Mourinho, Kante explains how 'he had a good feeling' about Antonio Conte when he spoke to him and decided to turn down Old Trafford.
The thought of Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante in midfield is a scary one and Kante admits that 'it was amazing' to have Mourinho call him but discussions with Chelsea were well underway when United came knocking.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Kante said the following:
It was amazing to have Mourinho call me, even though I'd been warned before how he would appeal to me.
I listened to his arguments about why I should move to United. But at that time I was hesitant between staying at Leicester or leaving for Chelsea.
My discussions with them were already well underway. But when I spoke, I had a good feeling with Conte.
Kante to Chelsea is in my opinion, one of the deals of the summer. What a deal.
