Romelu Lukaku received an incredible reception from Inter Milan fans when he arrived in Italy after Manchester United agreed a fee that could rise up to £73m.
Inter boss Antonio Conte wanted the Belgian striker, 26, to be his marquee summer signing and almost missed out on him to rivals Juventus.
But the Italian side have finally landed their main target after reaching an agreement with the Red Devils.
Lukaku's agent, Federico Pastorello, had flown out to London on Wednesday as he pushed for the United striker's move to Serie A.
And Pastorello took to Instagram later that evening to post a photo of himself alongside Lukaku on a private plane, which was captioned: "Ready to take off. Direction Milano."
Inter previously launched a £54m bid for the Belgium international in July, but the Red Devils rejected the offer as they held out for a fee close to £80m.
Lukaku has been training with Belgian side Anderlecht for the past few days and was fined by the club on Tuesday for missing pre-season training.

The Inter new boy landed in Milan overnight and was met with an overwhelming reception from fans, with footage now making the rounds on social media.
Conte, 50, admitted that the ex-Chelsea and Everton striker remained his number one target of the transfer window, with former club captain Mauro Icardi set to be axed from the San Siro this summer.
"I consider him a player who could improve our team," the Inter boss said.

Juventus rivalled Inter in the race to sign Lukaku and almost landed him in a swap deal that would see Paulo Dybala head to Old Trafford.
But United ended their interest in the Juventus star, 25, and refused to meet his wage demands.
Will Lukaku be a hit at Inter?
