Javier Mascherano has been linked with a return to Liverpool in the January transfer window - and a lot of supporters would love to see the Argentine come back to Anfield.

The defender made his name as one of the best destroyers in the European game during a three-year stint with the Reds between 2007 and 2010, before going on to win several Champions Leagues with Barcelona.

According to TEAMtalk, Jurgen Klopp has been offered the chance to re-sign the 33-year-old after he fell out of favour at the Nou Camp - and following last night's 3-3 draw with Sevilla in the Champions League, a lot of fans want to see reinforcements.

The Liverpool defence has been nothing short of a shambles all season long, and throwing away a three-goal lead last night was perhaps the straw which broke the camel's back - but is Mascherano really the answer?
