After securing promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history, Huddersfield town are not wasting much time in bolstering their squad ahead of their debut season in the big time.

The Terriers reached the promised land of the Premier League following a penalty shoot-out victory against Brighton in last season's play off final at Wembley.

Now, with an extra few quid in their bank account, Huddersfield are looking at putting it to good use.

And top of manager David Wagner's list is Leeds United striker Chris Wood.

New Zealand international Wood, who has previous Premier League experience, following spells at West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City, enjoyed the most prolific season of his career, last term, scoring 30 goals in 48 appearances for the Elland Road club.

The 25-year-old striker won't come cheap, though, with Leeds reportedly demanding £15 million for his services.

Despite facing competition from Crystal Palace, Swansea City, Stoke City, West Ham, Southampton and West Brom, it is believed The Terriers are the favourites to land Wood, who moved to Elland Road for just £3 million, two years ago.

Leeds fans, however, don't seem to think much of the rumours about Wood making the move across Yorkshire.

While Wood may not make the switch to the Terriers, it is still believed he will leave Elland Road this summer, after missing out on promotion and becoming disillusioned with the club's ownership following the departure of manager Garry Monk.
