Fabio Borini Is Set To Sign For AC Milan

This is not a drill

Following their takeover by Chinese group Sino-Europe Sports, AC Milan have been one of Europe's most productive clubs in the transfer market, so far this summer, spending close to £70 million on Andre Silva, Mateo Mussachio, Ricardo Rodriguez and Franck Kessie.

And the Rossoneri's spending is set to continue, although the next player making his way to the San Siro probably won't set the fans pulses racing in the same manner as Silva, Kessie and co.

Instead, Milan fans will have to prepare themselves for the arrival of Sunderland striker, Fabio Borini.

Yes, THAT Fabio Borini. The 26-year-old striker with just 36 career goals to his name in 166 appearances. The striker who has never once managed to score 10 league goals in his career, despite spending time with Liverpool, Roma and Chelsea.

No, we're not sure how Milan went from being interested in reliable, goal scoring, league title winning Diego Costa to settling for a bloke with one international cap who scored just once in 15 appearances, last season.

Naturally, everybody seems completely baffled by the news.

The deal is set to cost Milan £5.3 million, with a medical set to take place tomorrow.

Does anyone have a number for Borini's agent? As someone with an Italian surname who has never proven himself at the highest level, I feel he could also bag me a season at a number of Premier League and Serie A clubs with more money than sense.
