Just days after finally snapping up Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona have completed another signing this window. They mean business.

Barcelona's £142 million bid for Coutinho was too good to turn down with Liverpool eventually succumbing to their continued advances.

After failing to draft in him in the summer, Barcelona have got their man ahead of the second half of the season.

And they've swiftly added their second signing of the January market.

The club have confirmed a deal has been agreed for Yerry Mina. The Colombian defender joins from Brazilian side Palmeiras for a reported £10 million, with the player penning a five-and-a-half-year deal.

He has a release clause of £88.5 million.

Mina, 23, rose to prominence in South America. After plying his trade in his home country, he moved to Brazil in 2016 and has been attracting plenty of interest since with Barcelona securing his defensive services.

He'll provide cover for Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti, while being a replacement for Javier Mascherano who's days at the Camp Nou are numbered with reports heavily linking him with a move to the Chinese Super League.

Ernesto Valverde has added depth to his attacking options following the signing of Coutinho, and has now reinforced his defence. He'll be now looking to balance his squad.

He stands in good stead with his team sitting comfortably at the top of the La Liga, nine points clear of second place Atletico Madrid and a further 16 points ahead of defending champions Real Madrid.

How will Mina fare at Barcelona? And will Valverde continue his spending, this month? Watch this space.
