Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly said "yes" to a Manchester United transfer, according to stunning claims in Italy.

The Arsenal striker has been linked with a shock switch to United as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who remains subject to intense transfer speculation.

Italian outlet Tuttosport claim the 30-year-old is open to leaving Arsenal for Manchester United.

And Arsenal fans are used to seeing their best player make a shock move to Old Trafford with Robin van Persie doing so in 2012 and Alexis Sanchez in 2018.

Aubameyang joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2017 and he's since scored an impressive 32 Premier League goals.

He chipped in with 22 goals last season as he shared the Golden Boot with Liverpool's Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

But it appears he could be calling time on his career in North London.

Arsenal shelled out a club record fee of £56 million to acquire Aubameyang's services. The Gunners will likely demand a similar fee from their league rivals.

The news regarding Aubameyang's future bares a lot of similarities to Robin van Persie who left Arsenal for United in 2012, and talkSPORT's Andy Goldstein believes the Reds are seriously interested in the prolific Gabonese.

"I've got someone on the inside, not at United by the way, someone on the inside who every so often would tell me transfer gossip," he said.

"I would say he has a hit-ratio of about, quite high, 75-25. He's told me quite a few that have happened. Not just at United but other clubs as well.

"He told me about Anthony Martial, which I tweeted, I think, two days before United even approached.

"It was one of them 'How do you know?' -- one of those. He has told me that United are interested in Aubameyang."

This summer, United have snapped up Daniel James from Swansea City for £15 million, and they're on the verge of signing Crystal Palace's right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a reported £50 million.
