It was supposed to be a signing that would kick-start a season.

Alexis Sanchez's transfer to Manchester United was labelled a fantastic piece of business. He was made the best-paid player in the Premier League, along with the opportunity to wear the famous number seven shirt.

But it hasn't worked out for the 29-year-old thus far, and these latest reports suggest a move is brewing.

He only joined the club in January but it looks like Sanchez is ready to leave Old Trafford, with reports suggesting that he has become increasingly unhappy with life in Manchester.

The Times claim he doesn't get on with his team-mates, and cuts an isolated figure at the Carrington training ground.

He has also been badly affected by a break-up with former partner Mayte Rodriguez.

The report goes on to state that he doesn't like Mourinho's management style, something that has been criticised by many in recent months.

On top of that, Sanchez is so disillusioned with life at United that he has asked agent Fernando Felicevich to try and get him a move in the January transfer window.

It is believed that PSG have already held talks with agent Felicevich, who are prepared to make a bid in the January window.

Sanchez has been in and out of Mourinho's first team plans for the majority of the season, and has only managed to find the net once in the 3-2 win against Newcastle, last month.

Sanchez's former manager, Arsene Wenger, believes the player is struggling because of a sheer lack of confidence:

"I believe he has lost confidence. The strength of Alexis Sanchez is to take initiative to dribble and to take people on." he told beIN Sports.

"Those are the players who are most vulnerable when they lose confidence their game is based on that and having that feeling to take initiative, he has lost that slowly.

"Since the start of the season he had a high level of physical energy but he has lost that as well. 'Certainly he is refreshed now because Mourinho left him out for a while."

Are we witnessing the end of Alexis' time at Manchester United?

It looks increasingly likely that he will leave the club, judging by these latest reports.
