Forget Eden Hazard, Real Madrid are now targeting Mohamed Salah. But if the defending Spanish and European champions want to prize him away from Liverpool, they'll have to fork out a world record transfer.

Salah, 25, is in truly ridiculous form. Since returning to the Premier League from AS Roma in the summer, he's netted an incredible 31 goals. Leading the race for the Golden Boot.

Not to mention a further 10 goals in the Champions League, including a beautiful brace against his former team. He inspired his side to a famous European night, beating the Italian outfit 5-2.

Salah has already bagged the PFA Player of the Year, and is quickly becoming a hot candidate to hold aloft the coveted Ballon d'Or.

Could 'The Egyptian King' break the Ronaldo-Messi Ballon d'Or monopoly?

Talking of Ronaldo.

His club are keeping tabs on Salah ahead of a potential summer bid which could eclipse Neymar's Β£198 million deal to Paris Saint-Germain.

It's suggested his worth is in excess of Β£200 million, with Liverpool reportedly demanding a fee in that region to consider any offer, per Daily Mail.

Florentino Perez, Real Madrid president, is hellbent on recruiting a 'Galactico' once the summer transfer window reopens.

He's believed to have identified a few Premier League aces in the shape of the aforementioned Hazard, as well as Spurs duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

While heavily linked with a move for Neymar despite him only moving to the French capital in the summer.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague also claims Real Madrid want to pursue the best talent around. And Salah certainly fits that bill.

The left-footed wonder sealed a Β£36.9 million switch to Liverpool, penning a five-year contract worth Β£90,000-a-week.

However, it appears Liverpool are set to hand Salah an improved contract following his prolific season.
