Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon scored a worldie own-goal for Aston Villa, slicing a cross straight past Hugo Lloris in comical fashion.

Reguilon's moment of madness cancelled out Steven Bergwijn rocket of a finish in the eighth minute in their Premier League clash on Wednesday.

Marvelous Nakamba lofted an aimless ball into the box which was met by the Spanish defender who attempted to clear it with his wrong foot.

The left-back, though, struck the ball completely wrong with his right peg and it flew into the back of the net past the hapless Lloris.

Fans were quick to mock Reguilon's own-goal on social media.

One joked: "Puskas award for him."

A second tweeted: "Better than Shaw and Telles they said."

A third added: "Who needs Kane...pick that out!"

Reguilon's howler proved costly as Ollie Watkins then put his side in the lead after capitalising on yet more poor defending from the hosts.
