Thierry Henry is set to make his first steps in football management after reports in France confirmed that he has agreed to take over as manager of Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.
Henry quit his role as a Sky Sports pundit after the World Cup as he wanted to concentrate in taking the next steps in his management career and didn't believe he could do that whilst juggling a career in the tv studio.
The former Arsenal forward was in Russia in the summer and was instrumental as Roberto Martinez' assistant manager in helping Belgium reach the semi-final of the World Cup, where they lost to eventual winners France.
Obviously his job for Belgium gave him the hunger to be a manager and his former boss Arsene Wenger confirmed that Henry wanted the vacant role at Bordeaux. "Yes, he wants to do it," Wenger told Corse Matin.

"He is intelligent and he has the qualities. The existential question that we always ask ourselves is whether we are ready to sacrifice our life for the coaching profession."
Now French newspaper RMC have confirmed that the 41 year old has agreed to become the club's new manager:
Gus Poyet was in charge of the team, and is yet to actually be sacked, but the former Sunderland manager was suspended by the club last week.

The Uruguayan was punished after criticising the club's transfer dealings, saying, "I am not happy. It is one of my worst days at the club.
"What the club have done with Gaëtan Laborde is a disgrace. I think we have to stop here. I told the club not to let him leave until we had bought someone else. They have not recruited and they let Laborde go. I arrived at 11.35am. Laborde was not here. He was in Montpellier. Nobody told me anything."
Henry follows in the footsteps of Premier League legends, turned pundits to become managers this summer after Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard both left BT Sports to join Rangers and Derby respectively.
