Chelsea No.1 Thibaut Courtois has outlined his intentions to return to La Liga with comments that might not go down too well with Chelsea fans.

The Belgian goalkeeper made his name in the Spanish top tier on a two-year loan deal at Atletico Madrid, his strong displays forcing Chelsea to get rid of fan favourite Petr Cech and give Courtois the number one spot.

And the former Genk shotstopper has revealed that he plans to return to Spain one day, as well as revealing that he received a message from Real Madrid when he was sidelined with injury last season.

Speaking to MARCA, he said:

"When I left Spain I had it clear in my mind that one day I was going to return there. I have a contract with Chelsea for three more years. In 2018, when I enter the final year of my contract, we will have to evaluate if it is better to renew or walk away."

Then the 24-year old shared details of his contact with Real Madrid.

"When I injured my knee they sent me a fax wishing me a prompt recovery." he said.

Of course, there is another story about Real Madrid, a fax machine and a Premier League goalkeeper. With De Gea now appearing to be settled at Manchester United coupled with the recent comments from Courtois, Real Madrid might have a different option when it comes to the goalkeeping department.
