Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the two top dogs in world football but you might be surprised to discover who is the player with the most goals for club and country this year.

The two five-Ballon d'Or winners have bagged a load of goals in 2018 - 75 between them to be exact - but it's actually unknown quantity Baghdad Bounedjah who tops the world football goalscoring charts.

The 26-year old plays for Qatari outfit Al-Sadd alongside the legend that is Xavi Hernandez, while he's also an Algeria international. And he's notched a seriously impressive 40 goals over the year.

Yes, the standard is nowhere near what Messi and Ronaldo play against on a regular basis but you shouldn't overlook his form because of that.

Bounedjah, who has been heavily linked with Leeds in the past scored a staggering 81 goals in 65 appearances for Al Sadd, including SEVEN in a 10-1 win over Al Arabi.

He's only ever played in Qatar, Tunisia and his native Algeria but surely with his record, it's only a matter of time before he gets a bigger, more lucrative transfer.

India's Sunil Chettri is another player who has a crazy goals record despite not many people knowing about him.

He's scored 66 goals in 103 appearances for his country and is only behind Messi and Ronaldo as far as highest-active international scorers go.
