Last night saw the first meeting between RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg and it was a cracker.

The two teams are both linked to energy firm Red Bull and it was thought that both of them would not be able to compete in Europe at the same time.

However, after carrying out an investigation UEFA have allowed them to do so because Salzburg are being referred to as 'FC Salzburg' in Europe.

As was inevitable, Leipzig and Salzburg have been paired in the same Europa League group and we got the energy drink clasico last night. It was played in Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena, though over in Salzburg their stadium has the same name.

And it was the Austrian champions who came out on top. They blew a 2-0 lead to be pegged back 2-0 by their fellow Red Bull club but won the game very late thanks to a quite breathtaking goal from substitute Frederick Gulbrandsen.

On the counter after re-claiming possession, former New York Red Bulls striker Fredrik Gulbrandsen finished calmly after two exquisite back-heel flick-ons that have left a lot of people gawking.

Leipzig, who fielded five former Salzburg players in their starting XI, will make the trip to play their 'big brother' at the end of November.
