We've already seen a mesmerising Champions League team made up of players who never won the tournament and one made up of players from sides left in the competition, but how about the most valuable one for the quarter-finals this season?

That's right, there's an answer for the aforementioned question. With eight teams currently fighting it out in the first-leg matches on Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week, there is plenty of world-class talent to choose from.

Well, the folks at Transfermarkt have compiled a starting XI comprised of the 'most valuable' players left in the competition.

Shall we take a look at the starting XI? Let's do this!

So, the team lines up in a more attacking variation of a 4-3-3 formation, with Barcelona's Marc-André ter Stegen taking up his position between the sticks. Transfermarkt have slapped an €80m price on the 26-year-old shot-stopper, too.

The back four consists of Barça left-back Jordi Alba (€70m) and Juventus' João Cancelo (€55m) at right-back, with Ajax's Matthijs de Ligt (€70m) partnered alongside Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk (€75m).

With the defensive line sorted, let's take a look at the midfield trio.

Ajax's Frenkie de Jong (€75m), who will be playing for Barcelona next season, is paired with Manchester United's Paul Pogba (€90m) as the two CMs in the side, with Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne (€150m) placed in front of the duo in a more attacking role.

Moving over to the left wing is Barça's Ousmane Dembélé (€120m), while none other than Barcelona captain Lionel Messi (€160m) is out on the right wing.

Leading the frontline as the lone striker is Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, who has been valued at €150m.

Of course, one of the most notable names missing from the team is Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo, but considering this is based on value, there might be a reason that he's not featured.
