Lee Probert is receiving a whole lot of stick for his decision to book Demarai Gray after his emotional celebration against Cardiff today.
The former Birmingham City man, who fought back tears during the beautifully observed one minute silence before the game, scored the winning goal at the Cardiff City Stadium.
He immediately took off his shirt and unveiled an undershirt with a message that read: "For Khun Vichai" in honour of the late Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha after his tragic passing a week ago.
Probert, the man in the middle for the game, showed him a yellow card for "excessive celebration" and received a whole lot of criticism on social media for doing so because the general consensus is that common sense should prevail even if rules are rules.
But footage from ESPN might prompt people to look at the situation in a slightly different light.

When Gray took off his shirt, Probert can be seen in the background and has the look of a man who knows he has to do his job even though he doesn't want to caution him.
While it's incredibly frustrating that a man has effectively been penalised for commemorating his late boss and clearly someone who did a lot for him, we should pin the blame on the rules and not the man who is merely required to enforce them.
