Agustin Marchesin is our new favourite goalkeeper...

Just when you thought David De Gea had produced the best save of the week with his incredible stop to deny Christian Benteke, on Monday Club America goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin goes and conjures up a truly outrageous piece of goalkeeping.

In the CONCACAF Champions League quarter finals first leg, America destroyed Tauro FC of Panama by four goals to nil. Marchesin, in between the sticks, went to incredible lengths to ensure he kept a clean sheet.

Late in the game, he gifted the ball to the opposition player with an errant pass, and with Marchesin way out of his goal, the opportunistic forward lobbed him from range.

It looked to be a certain away goal for Tauro, especially considering there was a fair bit of pace on the chip.

However, Marchesin then displayed near superhuman goalkeeping abilities when he darted back to his goal-line before clawing the ball away off the post; flying into the back of the net in the process. Had the net not been there, some say he'd still be sliding right now.

He made the error in the first place but he made amends in extraordinary fashion and warranted a nice pat on the back from his teammates. He could have easily stood and watched the ball go in but he wanted that clean sheet bonus badly!

Even De Gea, the absolute master of impossible saves in recent times, would have been proud of Marchesin's heroics. The Spaniard's one-handed save to stop out Benteke's goal-bound header was out of this world and these camera angles highlight just how special it was:
