Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has thanked the club's backroom staff by spending a pretty penny on VIP backstage tickets for them to see Noel Gallagher in concert.

The Belgian centre-back, 32, splashed out to send them to see the lifelong City fan alongside his High Flying Birds at the Manchester Arena.

First-team sport therapist Mario Pafundi shared with his Instagram followers just how much he enjoyed the night out:

Kompany decided to present his colleagues with the gift after the Sky Blues sealed the Premier League title and were officially handed the iconic trophy following Sunday's 0-0 draw with Huddersfield at the Etihad.

As you can see in the main image above, Kompany is known to enjoy a friendly relationship with Noel Gallagher, and the City skipper is regularly spotted at the former Oasis man's gigs.

But this night out was purely for the club's unsung heroes; what a nice gift, eh?

Manchester City's title win didn't contain the drama of 2011/12 with the "Aguerooooo!" moment but Guardiola's side are the Premier League champions for the third time.

Pep Guardiola had said he would not be watching as he was out playing golf with his family. However his skipper Vincent Kompany, who has some United ties on his wife's side of the family, was watching with anticipation.

Well played, Vinnie.
