Timothy Fosu-Mensah definitely needs to get onto EA Sports about his pace rating because according to the stats, the versatile Dutchman is the fastest player in the Premier League.

The 21-year old, who is on loan at relegated Fulham from Manchester United, was sixth in the top 20 list back in September but now sits at the top having clocked a rapid top speed of 21.95mph since then.

Wolves 19-year old left wing-back Ruben Vinagre is in second place, just 0.08 seconds behind Fosu-Mensah.

Leroy Sane, the fastest player in the league for the whole of 2017/18 thanks to his top speed of 35.48km/h (22.05 mph) - recorded in the 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, finds himself in third position with 21.85mph - a mere second ahead of Newcastle's speedster DeAndre Yedlin.

Felipe Anderson and Divock Origi complete the top six of speed demons with reached 21.82 and 21.77 respectively, while the likes of Mohamed Salah, Isaac Mbenza, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Ryan Sessegnon and Raheem Sterling are all further down the pecking order.

To put Fosu Mensah's pace into perspective, former United youth player Ro-Shaun Williams, who beat Olympic gold medalist Darren Campbell's 100 meters time, reckons he's the quickest he's seen.

Speaking in 2016, he told the club's official website: "We do speed testing and there are quite a lot of fast players in the squad,".

"Tim [Fosu-Mensah] is fast, Axel [Tuanzebe] and Marcus [Rashford] - all of them are very fast so we have quite a good competition between us. We do it in the gym.

"Am I the quickest? [Laughs] No, Tim is probably the fastest!"

Fosu-Mensah is close to finishing his second full season in the Premier League and has been tipped to become the long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia at Manchester United.

He already has a fan in fellow speed king Sane, who has him down as his toughest opponent after experiencing difficulty against him.

"It was before when I was playing against Kyle Walker. And Crystal Palace's right-back Timothy Fosu-Mensah, I have played against him twice this season, and even last season, he had me really well under control and I told him how happy I was to play against him," Sane said via Manchester Evening News last season.
