David Villa reached a huge personal milestone at the weekend when he became the latest member of the 400 club.

Villa scored twice as New York City FC ran out 3-1 winners over FC Dallas and bounced back from the disappointing 3-0 defeat to Portland Timbers a week prior. His penalty in the 35th minute took him to 400, before his second saw him pass the landmark.

It's a massive accomplishment for the Spaniard, who will go down as one of the greatest strikers of our generation.

He was a goal-scoring machine at Valencia, was part of Pep Guardiola's all-conquering Barcelona side, won La Liga with Atletico Madrid, not to mention his achievements with Spain, where he won the Euros and World Cup as well as becoming the nation's all-time top scorer with 59.

In surpassing 400 goals for club and country, Villa joins an impressive list of active players to have managed the feat: Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all having racked up the numbers.

Some company he's in, isn't it?

Villa provided a detailed overview of his sublime goals tally on his official Twitter account and it highlights just what an incredible career the 36-year old has had.

Congratulations, David.
