Romelu Lukaku continued his incredible form for Manchester United this afternoon by scoring from close-range against Southampton at St.Mary's.

Lukaku has been outstanding since he arrived at Old Trafford from Everton for a hefty £75 million fee during the summer transfer window, and today's strike was his eighth goal in as many matches for the Red Devils.

Southampton isn't the easiest of places to go in the Premier League but Jose Mourinho's men started brightly and asserted their dominance from the outset.

In fact, it took just 19 minutes for Romelu Lukaku to break the deadlock, even if he did require two separate bites at the cherry.

It soon emerged that Lukaku has now equalled Louis Saha's record of scoring six goals in his first six Premier League matches for United.

And he doesn't appear to be showing any signs of slowing down any time soon.

Earlier this week, Lukaku commented on the controversial chant Manchester United fans have been singing in the stands.

The song, to the tune of 'Made of Stone' from United-associated band The Stone Roses, makes reference to the size of Lukaku's manhood and has caused a real stir, with calls for it to be banned due to it conforming to racial stereotypes.

And through United's official Twitter account, United's £75 million man had his say:

Could he help fire United to their first title since 2013?
