A classy gesture.

AS Roma players have produced a wonderful tribute to Sean Cox, the Liverpool fan left fighting for his life after being attacked by Roma ultras ahead of the Champions League semi-final first leg at Anfield last week.

53-year old Cox, from Dunboyne in Meath, Ireland was seriously assaulted by thuggish Giallorossi supporters, suffering injuries to the head and being placed in a critical condition as a result.

Roma president James Pallotta branded the group of supporters responsible "fucking morons" and said it was a minority showing the club in a negative light.

Cox, a father of two, has received a whole host of brilliant gestures from his beloved Liverpool - such as Jurgen Klopp sporting a Liverbird in Irish colours for his pre-Stoke press conference, before the squad hung his St Peter's GAA, Dunboyne jersey in the Anfield dressing room ahead of the game.

Now, opponents Roma have showed their class by training in shirts which read 'Forza Sean':

Sean is currently recovering in hospital and some fine folks have set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money for his medical bills.

In six days, 3,946 people have dug deep in their pockets to raise a whopping €76,827 for Sean and his family. The end goal is to get to €80,000 so here's hoping the donations keep coming - and of course that Sean makes a fully recovery.
