Crystal Palace may have suffered a truly abysmal start to the Premier League season under new manager Frank de Boer, but they can at least take one positive from Saturday's 3-0 defeat to newly promoted Huddersfield.

Two goals from Steve Mounie and an own goal from Palace defender Joel Ward gave David Wagner's side a shock victory that has lifted them to the top of the Premier League ladder, ahead of Arsenal, Burnley and Everton.

De Boer will be looking for his side to bounce back after a poor result, but one player who stood out among the rest during The Eagles' defeat was on loan defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

The 19-year-old was the first teenager to start a Premier League game for Crystal Palace since Tom Soares and Ben Watson in May 2005, and Mensah proved his capabilities with a solid performance against the recently promoted side.

On loan from Manchester United, one moment involving Fosu-Mensah in particular has done the rounds on social media.

What a tackle from the Netherlands U21 international:

The 19-year-old has joined Palace on a season long loan after making 21 appearances at Old Trafford.

He joins Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ajax defender Jairo Riedewald at Selhurst Park, and manager De Boer showered Fosu-Mensah with praise on his arrival:

"Timothy is a player who has great pace and incredible physical ability. In today's game you need players with strength and speed and is a player who can also play in midfield." De Boer said via Sky Sports

"I am seeing him in our system as a right centre back but he can also play full back in a 4-3-3."

It looks like Palace have got themselves a great player in Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
