Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has signed with another club and could leave as soon as January, according to former midfielder Mario Basler.

Basler, who spent three years at the German club, revealed that the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Juventus boss has an agreement to join a Chinese side when their season begins in January.

"I have been told that Ancelotti has signed with a Chinese club." Basler told German talk show Sport1

"From what I understand, he could leave as soon as January because that is when the season in China starts."

Ancelotti, who suffered at the hands of Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon, is reportedly under pressure after his side dropped to fifth in the league - despite only three games being played so far this season.

Basler went onto claim that his words are not fact, but he received the news from a 'very trustworthy' source:

"I cannot confirm it 100 per cent but my source is very trustworthy." he continued.

"Let's put it this way: I can't say anything negative about my source, who I completely trust.

"I'm not saying it's definitely true, but this is what I've been told."

Ancelotti has been strongly linked with a move to China in the past, and GOAL understand that a Chinese Super League club has 'sounded out the possibility of Ancelotti making a move to Asia'.

The report goes onto state that Guangzhou Evergrande could be a possible destination for the 58-year-old manager.

To put his achievements into perspective, Ancelotti was the man Sir Alex Ferguson tried to get to be his heir at Old Trafford during a meal and the Italian told the Times that it was the Real Madrid job that got in his way:

"A nice lunch. Alex chose the wine, really expensive.

"I had already spoken to Real Madrid. For the experience, a manager has to go to Madrid. If it hadn't been for that, I would have come, 100 per cent."

The Italian went on to win La Decima, the tenth Champions League win, with Real Madrid to cement himself as a bit of a legend for Los Blancos.

Do you think Ancelotti should move to China? Is it the right move for his career?
