There will be serious pressure on the young, yet bold shoulders of Kylian Mbappe for his first ever World Cup but France evidently have faith in their crown jewel - handing him the coveted No.10 shirt for the tournament in Russia.

The 19-year old boy phenomenon had been sporting the No.12, famously worn by fellow Monaco youth product Thierry Henry, as well as the No.20, ever since making his Les Bleus debut.

But the PSG star was given the #10 back in March and will now follow in the footsteps of greats like Michel Platini and Zinedine Zidane in wearing the iconic shirt number in a World Cup.

Sidney Govou, Dimitri Payet, André Pierre-Gignac and Alexandre Lacazette have all been associated with it at recent international tournaments but with Mbappe, it feels like he is born to inherit such an important number.

He was briefly given it by Monaco in the summer before his £166 million move to PSG went through and reverted back to the No.29 he wore with distinction in his glittering 2016/17 campaign.

Mbappe scored 26 goals in 44 games in all competitions as the Principality side won Ligue One and reached the Champions League, before he enjoyed a blistering first season in the capital last term.

The Frenchman bagged 21 goals and chipped in with 11 assists as the Parisians completed a domestic treble, with Mbappe following in Eden Hazard's footsteps in winning the Ligue One Young Player of the Year back-to-back.

We await to see if he endures a special breakthrough World Cup...
