It has been a tough year for Sir Alex Ferguson.

The former Manchester United manager was rushed to Salford Royal Hospital on May 5 and was put in intensive care after suffering a life-threatening brain hemorrhage.

Sit Alex spent four weeks in hospital before being released. with doctors saying he is"extremely lucky" to be alive.

But he continues to show no signs of slowing down, arriving at what he thought was a normal lunch at The Ivy restaurant in Manchester.

Much to his surprise, Class Of 92' members Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville had arrived before Ferguson - a Christmas present Sir Alex will never forget.

It was a heartwarming gesture from the four lads, who played a pivotal part in Fergie's reign at Old Trafford.

It really is great to see the legend looking so well.

The 76-year-old came out of intensive care earlier in the year, and Manchester United releasing the following statement:

"Sir Alex no longer needs intensive care and will continue rehabilitation as an inpatient.

"His family have been overwhelmed by the level of support and good wishes but continue to request privacy as this will be vital during this next stage of recovery."

Once again, it is brilliant to see Sir Alex Ferguson back on his feet, with that iconic smile on his face.

A true legend of the game.
