American football fan and luckiest bloke alive John Goehrke sent a hopeful tweet to Genie Bouchard during the Superbowl. 10 days later, the 20-year-old marketing student has successfully dated one of the hottest women in sport and we're all jealous as fuck.

At 12:53am on the 6th of February 2016, this lad would have checked his phone and literally shed tears.

After asking Bouchard "If Patriots win, can we go on a date?", she quickly responded "Sure".

I mean, after a good two minute conversation with myself, I came to the conclusion that I'd give up my original Gameboy to go on a date with Genie - so if you want to spare a minute of your time to tweet @geniebouchard, the please, help a guy out.

Hours before the date, the 22-year-old Canadian tennis player appeared on a chat show to discuss all the gossip:

Then it finally happened. Bouchard stuck to her word and went on a pretty cool date with Goehrke.

Not only did they attend the Brooklyn Nets vs Milwaukee Bucks in New York, but John featured in a pretty awkward video:

In 40 years time, after his grandkids call bullshit over this story, here's how John Goehrke will prove that this actually happened:

Genie tweeted this:

Then John chanced his arm with this response:

The 20-year-old marketing student then woke his neighbor Keith by screaming the house down:

Genie was not messing about:

And neither was John:

And neither was I:

Congratulations John Goehrke, you won.

Back in 1998, Nicky Butt's typically wayward strike hit me right in the head. I proceeded to fall off my chair. I cherish this moment.
