There will be plenty of pressure on the young, yet bold shoulders of Kylian Mbappe going into his first ever World Cup but France have outlined their faith in his supreme talents by giving him one of the most iconic shirt numbers ever.

The 19-year old boy-wonder had been sporting the No.12 number, famously worn by fellow Monaco youth product Thierry Henry, as well as the No.20, ever since making his Les Bleus debut a year ago.

But ahead of the summer showpiece in Russia, the £166 million man will be wearing the decorated No.10 shirt.

Two of the greatest ever players to play the game, Michel Platini and Zinedine Zidane, both wore the number with distinction for France, while Karim Benzema, still exiled from the French national team fold, was also handed it.

Sidney Govou, Dimitri Payet, André Pierre-Gignac and Alexandre Lacazette have also been associated with it in recent times but with Mbappe, it feels like he is born to inherit such an important number.

He wore the very same number very briefly for Monaco in the summer before he made the big-money move to PSG, where he has scored 19 goals and contributed with 11 assists in the No.29 shirt.

It's immense added pressure for Mbappe to have but if there's anyone who thrives on it, it's him.

The 2017 Golden Boy will debut his new number against Colombia at the Stade de France on Friday, and we really fancy him to light up the World Cup with the No.10 on his back a couple months down the line.

Euro 2016 finalists France are in Group C alongside Australia, Peru and Denmark.
