How times have changed...

There's something wonderful about seeing footballers as youngsters with their idols, and then seeing them realise their dreams years on.

So many examples have popped up in recent times, including Harry Kane and his future fiancee having a picture with David Beckham when they were 11-year olds.

But it's safe to say that our new favourite involves Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann.

For the first time in his career, the former Real Sociedad man will lead the Les Bleus' line for the first time in Russia, having been a bit-part player back in 2014.

Two years back, Griezmann was the top scorer of Euro 2016 as France lost out to Portugal on home soil and he's unsurprisingly one of the favourites to win the Golden Boot this time around, where Didier Deschamps' side are serious contenders.

But just getting to turn out for his country and pull on the No.7 shirt for his country should be an achievement for the 27-year old because his World Cup debut comes 20 years on from the time a young Griezmann got his football signed by France stars such as Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry and Fabien Barthez just before their 1998 World Cup game against Denmark.

He was just your typical football mad seven-year old in awe of his idols in the flesh at the time, but Griezmann was already in his full kit, wearing the No.7 shirt - a number which he has worn with distinction ever since becoming France's main man.

'Griezzy' also got an early experience of what it was like being on camera after being interviewed by a journalist at the event.

Seeing how things have come full circle for Griezmann is just beautiful and we're eager to see how he performs on the grandest stage of them all, especially considering how electric he was two years back.

Expect to see Antoine turn Russia into a dancefloor as he dishes out Ls...
