Eden Hazard had a superb message to Daniel Sturridge in the Stamford Bridge tunnel after Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

In the second meeting between the two sides in just a few days, both players scored gorgeous goals - only this time it was Sturridge who had the final say - curling in an outrageous 30-yard late leveller against his former employers with virtually his first touch.

And Hazard, who won the Carabao Cup tie on Wednesday with a breathtaking solo goal, could only congratulate Sturridge after the game - although he did ask him to repeat his heroics next week when leaders Manchester City come to Anfield.

Hazard and Sturridge were teammates for a brief period in 2012/13 when the Belgian first made the move to Chelsea and they had an embrace after the game at Stamford Bridge.

"I said to him that the goal was not bad, to be fair," the Belgian captain told the BBC when asked what he told the 29-year old on the pitch.

"He scored twice. One Wednesday and one today, like me. Maybe he try to be like me.

"But no, he's a great player. I had a chance to play with him a bit at Chelsea. And I know he's a fantastic player. He had a lot of injuries in the last few years, but when he's on the pitch he can create a kind of goal like this. So I'm happy for him. I'm not happy for Chelsea, but happy for him."
