Sven Ulreich was visibly gutted after his blunder proved costly in Bayern Munich's Champions League semi-final defeat to Real Madrid - and a powerful picture of him on the Bernabeu pitch after the game says all that needs to be said about how he is feeling.

With the score at 1-1 in the second leg, Corentin Tolisso played a short back-pass to Ulreich and he misjudged it completely - the ball travelling past the sliding goalkeeper and allowing Karim Benzema to tap a second goal into the empty net.

The 29-year old had actually deputised pretty well in Manuel Neuer's absence but produced one of the worst mistakes of the season at a crucial moment on Tuesday night.

Journalist Rik Sharma shared a poignant image of Ulreich sat alone on the Bernabeu pitch - his devastation clear to see.

There really is no margin for error at the highest level of football and it's safe to assume that Ulreich will be feeling very low and lonely at this time.

Here's hoping manager Jupp Heynckes, along with his teammates, pick him right back up.
