Having constant access to the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Serie A is not cheap. It's expected to rise, too!

It now costs over £1,000 for UK football fans to watch the top five European leagues -- Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Serie A -- across four subscriptions.

That's according to Football Whispers' Ryan Baldi, who crunched the numbers and found that the total cost hits £1,015.

In fact, Baldi followed it up with another tweet to suggest that the "cost and number of subscriptions required will rise again when Amazon Prime start broadcasting Premier League games from next season."

It was reported on Wednesday that Eleven Sports had lost the rights to broadcast live Serie A matches in the United Kingdom and Ireland to Premier Sports.

While Eleven Sports has been able to keep hold of exclusive coverage for La Liga, the broadcaster will no longer be showing the Eredivisie after February.

"At this stage, our priorities lie with our subscribers who we hope will experience minimal disruption as a result of these developments," Eleven Sports said.

It was announced last year that Amazon had secured a Premier League broadcast package, which means that the company will be showing 20 matches a season from 2019 as part of a three-year deal.

Should there be a cap on subscription services?
