Alisson Has Equalled De Gea's Best Clean Sheet Record At Manchester United In A Season

Alisson will no doubt want to surpass David de Gea’s best clean sheet record and take home the Premier League Golden Glove this season.

Alisson's clean sheet against Chelsea in Liverpool's 2-0 victory at Anfield on Sunday allowed him to reach an impressive feat after he equalled David de Gea's best clean sheet record at Manchester United in a single season.

The Manchester United shot-stopper, who picked up his 100th clean sheet in the Premier League earlier this year, kept 18 clean sheets in the 2017/18 Premier League campaign, which allowed him to win his first -- and only -- Premier League Golden Glove award.

Well, Alisson's first season at Liverpool has been nothing short of superb, especially with him leading the race for this campaign's Golden Glove and is two clean sheets ahead of Manchester City's Ederson.

Of course, the former Roma 'keeper has four matches left in the season to surpass de Gea's record -- not to mention that Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp will want him to keep as many clean sheets as possible with how tight the Premier League title race has become.

Arsenal's Petr Čech, who will retire at the end of the season, holds the record for the most clean sheets for a Golden Glove winner, which he set with 24 in the 2004-05 campaign with Chelsea.

Liverpool are two points clear of City at the top of the table, though Pep Guardiola's side have a match in hand.

Following on from the match against Chelsea, the Reds head coach praised his side's performance and touched on the heated title race with City.

"I'm so proud of the team, it was a fantastic performance. What a team, what a stadium, what an atmosphere. I'm so thankful I can be a part of this, it's great. It's just outstanding, very overwhelming at times," Klopp told BBC Sport.

"Well done, really well done, now let's prepare for Porto, Cardiff [City] and whatever comes.

"The first question in the meeting today was 'what is the City score?' You cannot avoid knowing about it. But it isn't interesting to us.

"We expect them to win all their games, so we just need to get as many points as possible and if we're champions then great, but if not, it is still a really good football team."
