Tottenham Hotspur fans have probably forgotten what it feels like to sign a player having not brought anyone in since the addition of Lucas Moura from PSG in January 2018.
However, you could say the club are making up for lost time as BBC Sport are reporting that Spurs have tabled a £53 million bid for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
The 23-year old is attracting interest from a whole host of clubs after an impressive season at Betis, where he notched 16 goals and six assists in all competitions.

A €22 million signing from PSG, Lo Celso has an £88 million release clause in his contract and Betis are said to be looking for a fee more in line with that figure.
Spurs fans are no doubt already furiously searching for Lo Celso compilations on YouTube to see what he's all about as a player, so here's all of his goals from last season and a lot of them are absolute belters:
Just over a year ago, Spurs made history after they became the first Premier League side to not make any signings in a summer transfer window since it first became a thing in 2003.

But clearly the Champions League finalists are already planning ahead for next season and look set to break their club-record transfer fee, which is currently the £42 million they paid to land Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.
